The class is designed as a choreographed dance sequence that works the body to release tense muscles and free the joints and facilitate relaxation through dance movement. The class concludes with a visualization using breathing techniques. Dance meditation is a unique, integrated movement meditation system for exploring and healing oneself. It approaches dance as a meditation and meditation as a dance. In a world where culture distresses our bodies (pollution, stress, humiliating ideologies), we all need ample opportunity to heal and revitalize. Dance meditation fosters the recognition of our inherent ability to heal and self-regulate. It assumes and enhances an abundant body mind integration. It encourages receptivity, creativity and present-ness. The aim of the dance meditation is to increase concentration, awareness and inner access. Breath-motivated stretching, movement, exercises, dance and whirling - In this non-competitive environment we feel our beauty, our harmony, our magnificence. Mahesh also conducts a voluntary class for the Senior citizens at St. Andrews Church, Hill Rd., Bandra. Movement and Dance Workshops Custom designed for the Corporates Mahesh uses creative dance and movement in a workshop format to develop team building skills, body conditioning techniques to de-stress the mind and body and balance occupational conditions (persons confined to desk jobs).
